Finished Digi Pack!!

On Friday 10th Feb Michael and I finished our first draft of the promotional poster and the CD cover, which we were extremelly happy with. We met the deadlne with plenty of time to spare, and they looked very proffesional.

As I also study art, this ancillery task was a great chance for me to incorporate the art skills i have learned into designing something like this. What also helped is that I have had a lot of experience in using photoshop and this helped us speed up the process and get it done in lesson times.

The only real difficult parts to this was getting the CD covers proportions right, for example you have to take into account that there is a spince on a CD cover etc. Another hard task was getting a barcode and information regarding trademarks etc from the back cover of another CD to show that we were thinking of all the aspects and legal requirements for a CD cover/poster. This was because the background colour from one CD was hard to match to ours. ( even though ours was black ).

Overall I would say that out of all the things in the project we have done so far, I would say that i am proudest of the Digi-Pack.

Digi Pack Research

These are some examples of Nero's single covers, as you can see there are reoccurring theme in these for example the diamond and obviously the "Nero"font which is very unique. In our cover we will re-create one of these using screenshots from our music video. We will use a screenshot from our video of emma which we will rotate to face eachother. These will be almost transparent so that you can see what is going on underneath. This was the best and most conventional idea for our CD that we came up with and that is why we chose it.

Film editing

We are finding it quite difficult to edit our final outcome at the moment as the shots of our performer are proving hard to lip sync. The narrative part of our video is going quite well, we are using stereotypical effects to suggest the conventions of our genre. We are also incorporating things from other music videos for example the text from rhiannas' " All of the Lights " video. We have taken a short break from editing so that we can get on with our digi pack which is going extremelly well! Another reason for takng a break is so that we can look at the video in a different perspective when we come back and make changes that we didn't notice before.

During our editing we have:
-Sped up the traffic shot (establishing shot)
-Created our own visuals using filters and one of our shots
-Chosen the effects baed on generic conventions
- Placed almost all footage in a rough draft.

All we need to do now is fill in the gaps, we may have to do a little more filming of our performer which wouldnt take much time due to the little lyrics in the song. I am looking forward to coming back to it so I can crack on and get it done.
